10. Has anything good came out in the last.. 5 years? Negative.
9. Every time Lance and I go to a Dollar Movie, we can't sit through it all because
a) Lame. "The Knowing"-- really? aliens? you pulled out the alien card in the end because you didn't know what else to do?
b) Dirrrty. "Couples Retreat"-- is supposed to be about couples. Not yoga masters humping other peoples wives.
8. It's a waste of time, I'd rather actually interact with the people I'm with rather than stare at a screen
Ok so I only have three reasons, but those pretty much cover it. I'm serious, I can't remember the last time Lance and I watched a movie all the way through- we either turned it off or walked out for one of those three reasons. And I don't think we're THAT critical you know? It's just pathetic the crap that comes out these days.
For example, last night Lance and I decided to rent a movie (rare occasion!) We rented "My Sister's Keeper" not his first choice, but its based on a book I read and really enjoyed. First of all, can I say the movie didn't follow the book at all? Let me tell you a little bit about life. Pick a focus! The book is about a little girl who was genetically conceived so she could be a perfect match/donor for her sister who was dying with leukemia. The little girl then hires a lawyer to help her become medically emancipated from her parents so they'll stop using her body parts.
Touching story, yes. Potential for a good controversial movie, yes. But it wasn't. Instead the movie jumped all over, left out any kind of character development and added cancer patients having sex in the hospital! (Yes, this was an actual scene) Lame, we didn't even finish it. What a trend that is beginning to be.
So here's a little advice movie people, stop putting sex and aliens in your movies and we'll watch all of them!
